PLS UPDATE THE “Candidates Contesting in the Constituency” SARATHBABU NAME IS NOT INCLUDED IN SOUTH CHENNAI. SINCE HE IS AN EDUCATED YOUTH PLS SUPPORT FOR HIM
thanks a bunch. needed this exact info. was loooking all over the place for this. got all under the same page! loads of thanks guys. great job. keep up the good work. hope its all authentic though!
its great to know all these at the same place
The name of Mr. N.S.Venkataraman, a Chemical Engineer by profession and a well known social activist and Founder Trustee of Nandini voice for The Deprived, a chennai based NGO, serving the cause of deprived and disabled for the last fifteen years is contesting from South Chennai Constituency.
He has been nominated by Desia Paadhukaappu Kazhagam, a registered political party under the leadership of Mr. V. Kalyanam a close associate and Personal secretary of Mahatma Gandhi. His symbol is COCONUT . His name is not found in your candidates list for south chennai.
Is there any candidate in Chennai Central from Desia Paadhukaapu Kazhakam? Any other independent candidates not from any bug political party?
India Elections 2009. Exercise your right to vote without fail. Vote for the Good Candidate. Vote against the Political Parties.
Democracy as is being practiced by the political parties in India is in tatters.
There are over 600 political groups registered with the Election Commission. Two dozen are active and most of them are regional parties. Even the National parties have limited influence in different States. They have to depend on the support of the regional parties to form governments at the Centre and the States resulting in coalition governments that have inbuilt instability. Regional pressures and narrow chauvinistic approach to national problems not only impede progress but also defeat the very objective stated in the Preamble.
Elections are held regularly and managed by the Election Commission rather efficiently, but increasingly the process of holding elections has become costlier and marred by violence and malpractices. Only the political parties who are in command of money and muscle power could field enough number of candidates and hope to win and capture power. The candidates are chosen not for their integrity or dedication to democracy but for their personal loyalty to the leadership and ability to create vote banks and bring in money to their party by any means. As a result criminals are dominating the major political groups and some of them even become ministers.
Voter-bank politics has divided people not only by caste, religion, language and ethnicity, but also by trade, profession and by student and labour unions. In every election political parties freely indulge in bribing voters, bogus voting and violence. The Election Commission is aware of these malpractices and has recommended a list of electoral reforms to the Central Government. Without these reforms our democracy will turn into mobocracy especially when no progress is made towards securing the citizens social justice and equality.
In a true democracy, the will of the people should prevail. Not the will of a few individuals who control political parties. For the sake of Good Governance choose Good candidates outside political parties.
please do update the profiles of candidate contesting .. especially from central chennai . i read in newspaper that 40 candidates are contesting ..
Wonderful page to know your candidates.
Mr.Sarath Babu MBA graduate from IIM contesting in South Chennai. He struggled a lot to come up in life.We can definitely expect the best from this young blood who knew the value of hard earned money.Let us support him.
Where are the qualifications of each candidate
In addition to education each candidate needs to have the ability to create opportunity (employment/education) for the people and needs to show that they are capable of doing this before standing for elections. It is tiring to see people getting credit for pretending to be white knights. Majority are just good at marketing strategies and poor at execution.
A nations success is determined by each citizen having opportunity to come up in life…since we are nowhere near that it is the duty of every citizen to work towards that. Electing unqualified officers is irresponsible. It will come back to haunt us.
There is so much disparity in this nation. I won’t be surprised if there is a revolution around the corner….our inability to contain the population at an optimal level will be our curse.
Am looking for the Affidavit Information of the Candidates contesting elections for the State and Parlimentary Constituencies in India this April-May (2009) Please Do let me know if you come accross this bit of valid information…
Thanks for the info. Only after looking at this website i came to know there is one more independent candidate name “Traffic Ramaswamy” other than “Foodking Sarathbabu”. I am in support of Sarathbabu but looking at the remarks of “Ramaswamy” definitely says he is also a better option compared to the other ones(from political parties) contesting n the south chennai list. So ppl, if u havent heard much abt Sarathbabu atleast vote for the other independent candidate instead of casting ur valuable vote for other political parties(Which hasn’t done anything for the betterment of our country)
Jai hind.
Please update the respective symbols for the candidates
Ppl have to think a lot at this moment. Nothing has improved yet. Why dont we try for independent candidates. Sarath, an IIM student, i read some articles about him, sure an educated young guy can rule better than others. He knows the value of money & people. Ppl,think a lot on this give your support.
This is really nice of you. Keep up the good work
This web site is very use full
who are the independent candidates contesting from Central Chennai? What are the qualifications/profession of the
candidates?
This site is great keep it up. As a responsible citizen I have some opinion for selecting the rightful candidate, we know how the country is facing now, yes we definitely need some new young candidates who has fire to do good. Why can’t we give to young educated party which has determined to do good. Why I am saying this is we know there are lots of Independent candidate. If they are not able to consolidate (all those good), what is the point casting vote to him (he alone can run the country ? ). To me they are more like opportunist – education is not the only yardstick to select….
TR BAALU win in sriperambathur
